LSU isn't built to win in the postseason

At least this year they weren't.
LSU has 1 great starting pitcher, 1 good starting pitcher a below averagae bullpen and a good (albeit cold) offense. I cant think of any team in recent memory that can win in Omaha with that formula.
They had great success during the regular season because they could swing the bats well and could beat anyone in a 3 game series with their offense and starting pitching.
When you get to a 4th game, or get deep into the bullpen they can't succeed.
Didn't have to use the pen at all in the regional or super regional so they won. Which is great, but they cant win unless Poche and Lange win EVERY game they start.
They are truly built to be a great regular season team, but not much more.

Even though we have won all but 1 game this postseason
Makes sense

Wrong.... Do you think every team in Omaha has 3 shut down starting pitchers and a super bullpen? LSU is built for this..
Shutdown starter.. Check
Good to great 2nd pitcher.. Check
Great defense.. Check
Great bats... Check
Can't say that about many other teams in Omaha. Just so happens that our bats weren't great yesterday, but they still may have been good enough if we played defense.
You can't look at all the runs given up and say that's how many we needed to really score. Poche was throwing great and those errors, which aren't the norm at all for this team, cost tons of runs. Those runs aren't given up we don't throw every pitcher on staff and give up even more runs. Without those errors we are talking about a whole different ball game.

Easy draw in regional, relatively easy draw in super regional.
0-1 in Omaha, and not build to overcome that.
They may well win out...but rarely do teams that have no pen and average starting pitching do well in Omaha. Facts

You absolutely don't have to have a 3 great starting pitchers to win in Omaha. But you damn well better have a good pen.

Not many teams at all are built to overcome a first loss in Omaha dumbass. That's why teams don't often come back from that position to win.
However, if there is a team that is built to do it it's LSU.

LSU doesn't have a horrible pen.

I disagree. 2013 was not built for Ameritrade/new bats.
Seemingly LSU adapted pretty well and didn't rely on gorilla ball. Certainly pitching has not been an issue in the postseason, including SEC tournament.

Honestly you're right but get ready for the resident baseball morons with 80,000 posts to jump on you and argue about stupid details instead of telling you why they think you're wrong. The fact that our strength of schedule is like 223rd doesn't really help prepare us for the postseason either, mainieri is turning into the king of learning how to get 50 wins and keep his job rather than actually field elite baseball teams

The offensive struggles aren't my point. It's simply that to win in Omaha you need to rely on a deep bullpen to win the 4th/5th game. LSU has only played 2-3 games in the SEC tournament/regionals. Which they are VERY good at.

Never said they were terrible, i said "below average" which is the truth.

Sizzling hot take bro..

Top to bottom, LSU stacks up against the best very well. Yesterday, we saw numerous uncharacteristic mistakes that should not repeat themselves on Tuesday. If they still should lose, let's hope we get beat, rather than beat ourselves. With an upper class team, we should recover and focus just fine.

Ok, now I know that I can discount what you say because you don't know what you're talking about.
Our SOS is 44. Our RPI is 3. Google is your friend.
There's no way to have an RPI of 3 with a SOS of 223. It is virtually mathematically impossible.

4 uncharacteristic errors = unfit for postseason? Ok...

I guess you didn't see who was in Florida's postseason bracket.

that literally has NOTHING to do with my entire point.

Um, being a top 2 seed gives you the advantage of having better draws. Would you rather we were a bottom seed and play harder teams in order to get to Omaha?
How about this....we have a damned good ball club that just happened to have one shitty day at the wrong time. Is that explanation too simple?
