But now you're without Lake for 10 days unless Schlitter gets hurt. The Cubs basically said they'd be fine with Baxter for 10 more days and they are okay without Lake with 5 away interleague games coming. It's...odd. And if you're going to help the bullpen, why Schlitter?

I could be hoping and wishing for Schwarber here...and looking too far into it.

According to MLB.com's Jim Callis, the Cubs have agreed to terms with first-round pick Ian Happ.
Happ will get a $3 million bonus, which is slightly under the recommended slot value for the ninth overall pick. The 20-year-old played the outfield and infield at the University of Cincinnati while batting .369/.492/.672 with 14 home runs, 18 doubles, 44 RBI, and 12 stolen bases in 56 games. It's not yet clear what his permanent position will be as a professional.

I agree.

I am thinking more along the lines of they think Soler will be back before those 10 days are up. Could be lofty expectations, but it is possible.

He's obviously going to be the back and forth swing guy this year. This year's Blake Parker. Hey, he got the W last night.
