Not content with North American triumphs World also now holds the title for the #1 international opening weekend in history as well, with an estimated $315.6M, besting Warner Bros. 2011 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 at $314M. Chris Pratt is so dreamy
He's pretty much A-list now I would think

I think it tells us a couple things:
1) we still go to movies in the summer to be entertained
2) we are getting tired of superheroes and want something different
3) Chris Pratt is going to be the next Harrison Ford-type franchise star (although honestly, I'd put him more as a Tom Selleck type, but with Ford-type movies).

Not surprised. Went to a 1045am showing today, Sunday, and it was packed. Never seen that in an early morning movie.

They are now saying this might go north of $207 million - breaking The Avengers opening weekend record.
It's already set the worldwide box office record with $512 million in its opening weekend.
