It's only getting harder now that they are accepting OOS students for a portion of the class. Higher MCAT averages and higher GPAs.

Per the linked website, 92.3% of the 193 incoming students are from LA. Average GPA of 3.78 and MCAT score of 30. No breakdown on what color your skin should be...

I know a really smart kid (from LA) who was wait listed when he first applied. He had good grades from a good school and I believe he scored well on his MCAT. He ended up going to Tulane for a year and completed a Masters program (Pharmacology, I think) and re-applied. Was Accepted at LSU-Shreveport, has since graduated and is currently in a premier surgery residency.
