If he's getting offered 100k this year, it's safe to say that teams already know he has zero negotiation leverage now huh? It's not like it can get any worse. It makes sense to come back and try to improve his draft stock more.

Exactly.
I don't know why people think he will improve his draft any more.. He's not that kind of player that another season could bolster him into higher range.. For instance a power guy or a guy who needs to really drive up his average.
Laird has an average arm, good speed, and a contact hitter. It's actually much more of a risk for him to return than worth it.
