That is a good point. I have coached youth basketball for years. I wa a scrapper when I played and was always diving for loose balls and focused on defense and whatever. It was because I was never good enough to be a primary scorer. But, I made myself valuable in other ways. So, I coach my kids to do that and they are always outworking the other team on the 50/50 plays and just through high energy.

So, coaching does play into it.

I guess that I wonder why coaches would not coach this way or want those types of players. I don't mean everyone, of course. I am talking about a guy here and there who will just fight like crazy. Then, you need other guys who are more fluid and who run the floor and have more offensive skill. It just seems like a good mix is the best way to go.

Cleveland is getting hammered with strength right now, and apart from Green, they are too finesse to handle it. It is interesting to watch.
