The story and world around the plot is very interesting as well.

It got a shite ton of hate from the book readers too.

Andrew Stanton directed John Carter of Mars, also was one of the screen writers.

Brad Bird directed Tomorrowland and also one of the screen play writers.

Both are mainly Disney directors and screen play writers.

Tomorrowland is nothing new, takes a lot from the 1950's space movies; was a good try. The opening destroyed the movie.

John Carter is a good adaption of the Carter books, and entertaining. Coloring the skin of Taylor Kitsch whiter to make the people appear redder hurt the movie a little, in my opinion.

Would John Carter have been better if it was rated R?

If it means seeing Lynn Collins naked, then yes.

It still pisses me off this movie did not do better.

It is a very optimistic, positive and fun movie.

I need to rewatch it because there was a point in the movie about 2/3 of the way in where the movie plot just skips something. Hard to explain, but I rewound and played again and couldn't figure out how one scene wrapped up into the next. It was weird and threw me off the rest of the way.

Funny enough this is when I hated Damon Lindelof and jokingly said he must have something to do with this movie and was right!

Man, I hate to assign political motives to everything but I can't help but wonder if Tomorrowland's portrayal of enivronmentalists as overly defeatist has something to do with the low RT score.

I have noticed low RT scores for movies that don't fit a certain political narrative.

Bingo. The whole feeding the wrong wolf thing is spot on. It even calls out Hollywood for making such negative movies/tv shows. What’s funny is they blatantly show a diverse group of positive, innovative thinkers being brought to Tomorrowland at the end, but that wasn’t enough for fart sniffers.

Brad Bird is a really good director and an excellent writer. I really wonder how the ST would have turned out if he didn’t pass on it leading The Mouse to bring in JJ.

He proved with MI he could do complex action, so I fell pretty good he would have done it right.

Bird is from Kalispell Montana, he probably has very traditional views.

I’ve seen this movie a few times. I’m going to need some more information here. Because now I’m curious.

The title of John Carter didn't mention anything about Mars

My bad. I'll have to watch it again when it hits Disney Plus in September.

It's definitely when they are in Tomorrowland and maybe in a building on some platform with David (Hugh Laurie).

My memory is fuzzy, but imagine a fight scene that doesn't have a result and then one party just exits calmly without explanation but also without the implication they won the fight. It was like that, to me at least.

Now this shite is gonna bug me like it did 5 years ago

I distinctly remember an article that came out about that. One of the producers said they dropped the “of Mars” from the title because they felt he wasn’t really “of Mars” until the end of the movie so calling the movie John Carter of Mars was premature on their part.

That’s like saying Disney should have just called the Avengers “the Hero Squad” until the end of the movie because they did nothing to earn the title until then.
