I don't believe that he is eligible to come back...

If Valentine is in shape I think we see some 3-4 alignments this year.

The 3-4 would work great. Only problem is where does the Key fit???

I would suspect as hybrid LB/DE. I thought this might be happening when Bain moved out to DE this Spring and did not look bad at all at 300 lbs. He had 3 sacks in SG FWIW.

I personally think they are moving to a 4-3 under base defense.

He mainly was good at batting down passes. He rarely got pressure on qb.

What does this have to do with the article. We didn't run a 3-4 when Jackson was here.

Not a fan of switching. Hope it works out for the best though.

I would think we would run more of a hybrid rather than pure 3-4.

Jackson is the one who had to miss regular season then was about to come back for the 2007 BCSNC then dominated OSU.

I don't remember Jackson being out during the regular season. I think you are thinking of Ricky J Francois

My feelings exactly. I don't like the 3-4 scheme. But I hope it works for us.

Can anyone accurately say why LSU would benefit from the 3-4 as opposed to the 4-3?

Maybe more athletic guys on the edge to defend the spread...? I don't know, just a thought I had. Personally, I think we would be very good in a 3-4. We've had quite a few guys who would've been good hybrid DE/LB the last few years.

He got quite a few sacks his first year starting. After that, not so much.
