its a pretty simple concept, just because someone is a great player, doesn't mean they are marketable. tim duncan is the greatest player of his generation but kobe and lebron are easily more marketable, and thus more famous.
Anthony Davis is arguably the second best player in the nba and we are having a discussion if he is more famous than a rookie wide receiver on one of the worst teams in the nfl last year, that should tell you all you need to know.
you pelicans fans probably see AD on all the commercials during your local broadcasts, you guys need to realize the national audience doesn't see those commercials.

Did you see the disparity in twitter and facebook follows/likes between AD and OBJ? It wasn't even close. And OBJ frequents social media too.
