If we wanted to get, say, Tobias Harris, could we (in theory) send them Ryno in a S&T, get Harris, re-sign Asik, sign a dudley or Green to the MLE, and still keep Cole/Ajinca?
Maybe sign a backup PF with the BAE?

Yes. The S&T keeps us from going under the cap like we'd have to do if it were just signing Harris. A similar move could get us Greg Monroe.

In a vacuum, I'd rather a Harris than a Monroe one. With a Harris deal, you get your 3/4 swing, keep your Center, and still have the MLE and BAE to upgrade two of backup SF/C/PF.
Let's say you add a Gerald Green for the MLE.
Jrue/Cole/Tyreke
EG/Tyreke/Qpon
Harris/Green/Qpon
AD/Harris/?
Asik/Ajinca/BAE
That lineup has potential, especially in a small ball lineup with say Jrue/EG/Green/Harris/Davis.

There has been a lot of smoke around Orlando not wanting to pay Harris big money, and the RFA S&T is a play Demps has pulled off several times in the past.

With that team, no less.
That lineup makes me salivate.
I know there is very little chance of it happening, but it would be a big upgrade.

Most likely guys are probably Dunleavy Jr. and Gerald Green. Chicago has Snell and McDermott coming up that play similarly to Dunleavy so he will probably not be a high priority while Green had fallen out of favor in Phoenix towards the end of the season.

Nearly FA so I decided to bump this with some news on targets:

Luol Deng remains undecided whether or not he will enter free agency. A decision will be made tomorrow, according to Deng’s agent.
Danny Green - G/F - Spurs
The Spurs reportedly fear that they may not be able to retain Danny Green as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
With the Spurs set to offer Kawhi Leonard a five-year max-deal, and smaller deals for both Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili, in addition to a free agent pursuit of LaMarcus Aldridge, the budget could be tight in San Antonio. Green has reportedly drawn interest from the Mavs, Trail Blazers and Pistons thus far, and if the Spurs nab Aldridge via free agency, there chances of retaining Green will be lessened.

An under the radar free agent will be Dallas' Al-Faroqu Aminu. Sked to visit NYK, BOS, POR, TOR & NOP, w/Mavs still in mix.
The Celtics have extended a qualifying offer to Jae Crowder which will make him a restricted free agent.
This was an easy decision for the Celtics, as Crowder's versatility on both ends of the court was a huge reason why the Celtics made the playoffs. Crowder averaged 9.5 points, 4.6 boards, 1.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.8 3-pointers for Boston, but his role for next season will hinge upon what the Celtics do in free agency. Unless Crowder receives a massive offer from another team, Crowder should be wearing a Celtics uniform next season.

Rockets free agent guard Corey Brewer, 29, is open-minded in re-signing, but his preference is to sign long-term deal, a source told Yahoo.

So basically not any real good news for the Pels.

Yeah its been very tight lipped. Might have to break up the MLE and BAE into a few separate, lesser players.
