Rotoworld)Coach Sean Payton confirmed TE Josh Hill will play the Jimmy Graham role in the Saints offense.
Analysis: After not drafting a tight end the Saints are committed to Hill as GrahamÂ’s successor. Hill will get the majority of his snaps detached from the line, with Ben Watson returning in his usual role. Hill managed five touchdowns on limited targets last year and remains a candidate for a major step forward.
(Rotoworld)Saints coach Sean Payton said TE Ben WatsonÂ’s role wonÂ’t change this season.
Analysis: "Ben is one of those guys that can play the true Y," Payton said. "I donÂ’t know with Jimmy Graham's departure that changes Ben's role because he was very involved a year ago." The Saints plan to increase Josh Hill's snaps and keep Watson as their in-line blocker. A bottom-20 tight end by PFF last year, Watson should remain a non-factor in the pass game.
(Rotoworld)Saints CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste "sees a big difference" in his second year.
Analysis: Jean-Baptiste struggled with the playbook and his technique as a rookie, playing eight snaps. The Saints donÂ’t have a clear frontrunner at nickel corner, and are letting him compete with Kyle Wilson, Delvin Breaux, and third-rounder P.J. Williams. At 6'3/218, Jean-Baptiste should be limited to covering the outside in sub packages.

Hopefully the Browner signing helps in his development. It takes a different style of technique to play corner at that size. Browner has mastered being able use his strengths to become a successful corner. I'm hoping that he can pass on a few of those tips to SJB & that he watches & learns somethings from Browner during practice sessions.

I always thought Hill has/had the skills. I hope I'm right. Ben is too old IMO to get a lot of reps as a receiver vs blocker.

Josh Hill will end up being very good TE. He has all the tangibles.
