The med pay and liability are there on the policy to protect the mortgage co just as much as the home "owner."

TONS of people wouldn't (and many still don't) carry auto insurance even though it's legally required in LA. The rest of us carry UM because these folks are out there.

OP merely asked about filing a claim for medicals because that's what it's for. If it helps cover his deductible thru his health insurer, great. Chances are his health carrier will file through his bosses homeowners to recoup their payments anyway.

ETA Not because it was the bosses fault, because the coverage is there and that's what it's for. Same as the medical coverage on your auto policy.

Does the OP not have medical insurance?

Assuming he does, he (or his carrier) is going to initiate a claim against another insurance company to recover his damn deductible?

Do you not agree these actions raise rates for everyone?

Can't OP suck it up and pay for it?

Of course. They are to protect whoever "owns" the asset. I'm not sure what this has to do with anything?
