Depends if you're a shitty person or not.

Your health insurance will ask you where it happened and they'll try to recoupe their money from your boss' homeowners.

GOOD GRIEF.
Seriously?
People like you are why every damn body pays more for Homeowner's insurance and GL and every other type of damn insurance.
Thanks.

If it was a slide brought to the house by a third party business, their insurance should cover injuries when they sign the contracts

Mortgage companies are why people pay homeowners insurance. Thanks.

Yes. People think when you file a claim you're suing. Not the case at all.
I love these threads. 100 answers from 100 different people, and 96 of them don't know jack.

I'm not clear on your point.
Insuring an asset is one thing, people making claims b/c "its always someone else's fault" are another.

For everyone.

The med pay and liability are there on the policy to protect the mortgage co just as much as the home "owner."
TONS of people wouldn't (and many still don't) carry auto insurance even though it's legally required in LA. The rest of us carry UM because these folks are out there.
OP merely asked about filing a claim for medicals because that's what it's for. If it helps cover his deductible thru his health insurer, great. Chances are his health carrier will file through his bosses homeowners to recoup their payments anyway.
ETA Not because it was the bosses fault, because the coverage is there and that's what it's for. Same as the medical coverage on your auto policy.

Does the OP not have medical insurance?
Assuming he does, he (or his carrier) is going to initiate a claim against another insurance company to recover his damn deductible?
Do you not agree these actions raise rates for everyone?
Can't OP suck it up and pay for it?
I know, stupid concept.

Of course. They are to protect whoever "owns" the asset. I'm not sure what this has to do with anything?

I can't speak for what the OP has not already mentioned. I have health ins and I have a savings account specifically for health related issues. Not everyone does and that's their issues. I do agree that claims will cause premiums to rise, but I also know there is a reason why you carry insurance.
It has to do with the fact that this is what the medical payments coverages are for on your homeowners policy. Stupid concept, I know.
ETA And he may not file a claim thru his boss' policy. We don't know. Heck, the boss may already have. He asked a question and I answered.
Maybe he doesn't have the money to pay for it. Maybe he works 60 hours a week to send his kids to private school and can't afford health insurance.
ETA ETA Should he also decline to use his health insurance because premiums might rise? If so, then why have it?
