Homeowner's insurance isn't a major pay-off. If you're going to go through the trouble of breaking your kid's leg, you should have done it at a private business. I applaud your commitment to it with the whole "surgery" thing, but you really should have done your homework and found a bigger payday.

There's always claiming pain and suffering for the big bucks

So slough it off on the guy who makes less than you. Glad you're not my boss.

So my child broke their leg on an infalteable waterslide during an event at the boss' house recently which required surgery. Not even considering any legal action but am curious as to people's thoughts about filing a claim against their homeowner's insurance to recoop some cost of medical bills
My thoughts? You sound like a frick head.

If it was an accident not caused by the kid, why shouldn't the boss pay? His house, his event, his pool.

That's why the boss' homeowners policy has medical payments.

Right so the question boils down to, do you ask for it or expect the boss to offer. Sure, if he offers, accepting is easy. I'm not sure if I'd expect him to offer it but I'm not a grown-up yet.

I work hard to make ends meet. I put food on the table for my kids and wife. I do the best I can. My family probably qualifys for welfare, food stamps, all kinda hand outs. But I wasn't raised that way. I can't afford insurance right now, but everything I got I paid for myself and that's what matters to me.

His medical insurance after he makes the claim will contact the boss's homeowner's insurance to pay.
That's how I've seen it work in the past

Where in this

should the boss be liable? OP should pay the bill for his kid getting hurt. End of story.

Assuming he has it, you mean?

Thank you Captains. And to clarify this is the only thing we were even considering. I'm not a legal expert but I believe this is different than suing. And to further clarify I do have insurance but I am sure the cost will be well into the thousands. Keep in mind that I'm that I'm only asking a question people. Some of you need to chill out.

So when you get mangled in a car wreck or have your first bypass surgery we just let you die? No, the rest of us will pick up the tab in one way, shape or form. You can't afford not to have insurance.
