I thought the same thing. That's why I never went with a 1-4 scope before, but I was wrong. The eye relief is way better than I thought. I keep my stock and head positioned the same as I would with my Aimpoint. The scope relief is the same as the Aimpoint. As for parallax free, I haven't noticed a big difference. I also haven't shot it in any support positions yet.
To the OP, do what you think will work best for you. I just wish somebody would have talked me into one of these 1-4 scopes a long time ago. Best thing you can do is go into your optic shop and look at what they have and make you decision off of that.
