I saw it a couple of years ago for the first time. I was underwhelmed. John Goodman had a couple of great lines and the ashes scene was absolute comedy gold.

Other than that, the only thing I got out of the movie was The Dude's contempt for The Eagles, and the generation of people who grew up hating them because of it.

While I have not seen every Coen movie, I have seen quite a few. I consider myself to be a fan. TBL is by far my least favorite. Everything seemed forced to me. I've even tried to go back and rewatch after reading all the acclaim. Didn't work. Most overrated movie ever. The fact that more threads are started about it than Raising Arizona saddens me.

What seemed forced?

Each time I watch it it gets better. I didn't think it was that good the first time I saw it.

I am the dude so that's what you call me

I agree with this. I think Raising Arizona is better than The Big Lebowski. The ending to Raising Arizona almost made me as a grown arse man cry.
