Inspect the item with no cash in your pockets and say that you have to go get the money. Close the deal in a public place or in someone's office or shop. I recently sold a car in a cash only sale and we closed the deal at a mechanic's shop. Gave the mechanic $200 for letting us use his shop to count out $4200 in crisp hundred dollar bills. No problem.
