Definitely right decision.
He wants to go to med school.
Over 100k for undergrad for no reason. Only to accumulate much more? Smart kid, a bs is only a step for the many in medicine.

I agree.
If he wanted to go to business school or law school, or something like that, I would say go to the IVY league and make your connections.
But, what connections do you need for medicine that you won't get in medical school? Doctors make their connections in medical school and in their residency.
And, looking at this kid's scores and background, I'm guessing he'll have his choice between Harvard, Hopkins and Duke for medical school. Worse case scenario for him is UT or UA Medical Schools.
There, it's almost certain he will have to incur some debt. So, might as well go on the free ride to a decent undergrad and incur the debt when you need to.
