I have been working out of town for the past year or so. Haven't had much time to put the yak in the water and do some fishing. I will be home in Baton Rouge for a wedding and would like to try and go one morning before the rehearsal dinner. So, I'm looking for the closest place to BR to get in some saltwater and catch some reds. Just need some recs on where to put in at.

If you don't mind dropping $30, join Bayou Coast Kayak Fishing Club (BCKFC). They have a map with launches.

sent the .kmz file. You should be able to drag and drop it into google earth. Let me know if it works.

Hope you're not sharing the BCKFC members map. If so, not cool. Lots of folks put quite a bit of effort finding and assembling those spots.

I have never been a member of that club and I've had this file since 2010. It was given to me with permission to share. It's just a map of the marinas anyway, not sure why anyone would give a shite?

When you pay to join BCKFC, you gain access to a google maps page with kayak launches (marinas and otherwise) all over Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, etc.

But since you're not sharing those spots, nothing to worry about.

You're good. They are referring to a map that you have access to when you join BCKFC. It's got spots all over LA that you can launch your kayak.

...mostly marinas.

If you are a member over there, then you and I should talk about this .kmz file.
