New set of tires- Hyundai Sonata

Went to the Hyundai dealership for an inspection for my 2013 Hyundai Sonata and was told I needed 4 new tires. They told me it would cost $750 if they did it, so I told them I would shop around. This is what I found:
Falken tires: $495 (approx 40,000 miles)
Uniroyal tires: $540 (approx 60,000 miles)
Does the OT have any experience with these brands or any other brands that are affordable. I don't want to buy cheap, shitty tires but I also don't want to spend a fortune.

You need to shop around more. You should be able to get 4 quality tires from an online retailer for at least less than 100$ a tire.
Eta: don't let the tire mileage warranties influence your decision. Filing a successful claim on them requires extensive documentation of purchase, vehicle ownership, installation and maintenance ( ie service records of rotations, inflation pressure etc)

Tired are tired. You get what you pay for. A big difference is road noise in the good ones.
But you have a Hyundai. Don't spend a bunch on tires.

Go by McDonalds tires at the corner of Florida & Sharp. You'll be amazed at their prices & service.

Those are some shite tire brands baw. What tires does your car come with stock? Remember that your tires are the only thing connecting your car to the road, it's not something you want to skimp on.

I wish I'd have said this.
The old Tire Kingdom stores (now called NTB?) have been good for me.
Get name brand tires.

I'm pretty sure Falken and Uniroyal are name brands, but you have to spend more than ~$450 for good ones.

Just rent a car for one day and switch out the good tires on it for your shitty ones. Good to go. Shouldn't be anymore than $100

Falken is a Sumitomo product.
I did not know that.
I use the Treadwear, Temperature and Traction ratings to compare. I have never bought anything graded lower than "A" on Temperature & Traction ratings.

There's never a reason to skimp on tires... Thousands of people every year die from defective tires... I drive on Goodyear or Michelin... Preferably Goodyear.

Check out Tirerack.com
Put in your car, select options, and then select Michelin for the tire guide. It will probably come up with Premier A/S or something similar. I'm betting about $500. Figure another $15 or so per tire to install at a local shop.
You can also check their customer ratings for tires on that site.
Since they're what keeps your butt from hitting the road pay a few extra duckets and get something safe and lasting.
