F me didn't think of that

What if her license is in her current name? Won't that affect it?

Also, if I just get the card am I considered a renewal or first time since we only have the booklet?

Dude. Just keep her current passport and book the ticket. She doesn't need her license.

She can just use the passport as her identification

Leave her license at home. Worked for my wife.

1. Book the flight in her maiden name. I have traveled to and from the USA 4 times in the last year and I have never had to give my license. When I go through customs or have to show ID at the airport I just show my passport.

As long as she isn't going to be driving in this foreign country she can leave her license at home. The passport qualifies as a valid id world wide.
