Going insane trying to get through the passport website
All I'm needing to do is change my wife's passport from her maiden name to her current last name
It's still valid through 2017 but we are leaving mid June for Mexico.
Online it's asking if I need a book, card, or both. Any help is appreciated

Dude just book the trip in her maiden name... No need to pay extra money to change her passport.. Been doing it for my wife for the past 2 years, her passport will expire in 2017 as well then we will change it

Just book the plane ticket with her passport name and do the renewal/name change together in 2017.

The state department website is really not complicated for non-tards.

Spend the money. If your wife is already stressing over it she will look nervous and act like she's carrying a ton of coke when she goes through customs.
Get it for her peice of mind. Enjoy your trip.

She can change her name, just bring a copy of marriage license. We've never had any issues since we've gotten married and her passport still says her maiden name. Only once have they even asked why they were different, showed them the license and walked through.

You may be the biggest bitch on this message board...and that's saying something!
Take a look at your post history.

As long as the name on the ticket matches the passport she's fine.
