Good to know. I might try the TNT load. I need to find a cheap practice load.

I bought some Hornady 30gr high velocity .22mag with the gun. It shoots them fairly well but I think it could do better with something slower and heavier. I wasn't expecting the muzzle flash to be as much as it is. It has as much or maybe more flash than 125gr self defense loads out of my 6.5" Blackhawk .357

So far it doesn't care what .22lr I shoot. A beer can at 30 yards is easy and I struggled to hit that with my 22/45 consistently.

I don't know what the NRA rag's author had for a frame of reference, but he sure seemed to think the TNT rounds produced a huge muzzle flash. The young'uns in our family like the .22 WMR fireballs -- but it can't be great for maintaining your night vision.
