Any list without Sir Lawrence Olivier is a fricking joke.

If Laurence Olivier was alive and he walked down the street in New York, how many people would recognize him? Olivier was a great actor but he wasn't a movie star or huge box office draw by any means.

I already said, "recognizable" means nothing to me. But, in his prime walking in New York or London he would have been recognized by many people. Celebrity status is so overblown versus true talent now. Kim Kardashian is a celebrity because she got fricked in the arse by a rapper, married a basketball player and then married Kayne. What a fricking joke. Recognizable is the worst term for a celebrity. How about some talent?
