What is the best time of year to throw a frog? I haven't had much success with the hollow body frogs. I like to throw them though.

They are catching them on frogs around here right now.

I usually throw them when it is hot as hell outside.

I start throwing them once the water hits about 60 degrees and don't stop until winter. They're my favorite thing to catch fish on (hollow bodies that is)

Patience, once they hit it, you have to hesitate even longer with hollow body frogs to get a good hook set...

I throw 'em anytime except winter. They are great search baits.

I usually fish a frog in tandem with a tungsten/punching-bait (like a craw tube) combination in heavy cover. A lot of times the frog will cause movement of the fish (but not necessarily a strike). And if I can't get a strike on the frog, the punch-bait comes in right after it.

No telling how many fish I've caught this way.
