It's a relic of a different age....

My mother and her siblings all have burial policies...she and her siblings (and in-laws) have all elected to be cremated...even though we have a family grave in algiers

Cremation is my choice. Why give a substantial amount or most of the proceeds from life insurance or personal funds to go the "established undertakers"? I figure, whatever I leave behind would go to better serve my kindred or loved ones than some established corporate entity. BUT, to each his own AND their religion... Just my opinion.
