1979 was one of the best years in music in the last 50 years. Some of my favorites

Breakfast in America - Supertramp
Reggata de Blanc - The Police
Tusk - Fleetwood Mac
The Long Run - Eagles
In Through the Out Door - Led Zeppelin

Forgot to add
Highway to Hell - ACDC
Damn the Torpedoes - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Yeah. All good ones. Was Graham Parker's Squeezing out Sparks from that year? Neil Young's Rust Never Sleeps?

In Through the Out Door - Led Zeppelin

I remember when this album came out. I was a freshman at LSU and went in between classes to the Record Rink on College Drive and bought this record. I had no idea that my beloved Led Zeppelin could produce such a huge, steaming pile of suck. I had waited for months with bated breath for this LP; boy was I disappointed.

I don't know if I can pick a "best". Some very influential albums of that year are as follows:

The Specials-The Specials
The Clash-London Calling
Gang of Four-Entertainment!
Joy Division-Unknown Pleasures
Buzzcocks-Singles Going Steady
The Cure-Three Imaginary Boys

Should I go on?
