Another Earth just 12 light years away? Tau Ceti Probably not the next Earth Aft

A team of astronomers at Arizona State University have poured cold water on the prospect of finding any intellignt life around the star Tau Ceti, one of the Sun’s closest neighbors and one of the most popularized systems in many science fiction works.

Why do they keep calling the sun "our Sol"?

Because in conversations like this, all solar systems have a sun.
It's not a name that denotes ours specifically, except maybe in implication by being capitalized (like the Moon)
Calling ours Sol is a accepted way to name our star with no confusion.

Oh i am not trolling.
I love space and wish we were further along technology wise so i could be a part of it, as a common plebian.
just makes me angry at all the jesus dick suckers that write off other life because they can only mentally understand what catherine nun taught them when they were 10 years old.
that being said i way more religious than 90% of the OT.
