Seems though it wouldn't be difficult to guarantee Chalmette a 16 and push down everyone between 16 and Chalmette's original seed one notch.

Didn't something similar happen in softball? I heard Chalmette was given the 32 as district champs even though they didn't finish in top 32. At least that's what someone told me.

yeah

my proposal would be that the worst few games for every team in the state (like 5 or so for each team) don't count as games in the power point calculations, but you still get the points for them

why because every team has games they don't want to play but they have to play. for most teams these 5 games will be losses

Also King baseball last year. They were 33 but district championship does guarantee you a playoff spot. So they got 32 and bumped someone.
