I did like it mostly, however, my two biggest problems:

quote:

Then they created conflict twice over with the Damon bullshite and the reveal about Plan A, and it came out of nowhere. It wasn't really organic and it didn't come from the plot and overall conflict. Damon's deceit was telegraphed once he was worried about them examining his robot, too.

Matt Damon and

quote:

The black hole part of the ending kind of meandered around and then admitted what had been offered: the "ghost" was him from the "future". And then it meandered on even more, when he was magically found and pleasantly got to live on a space station.

The terrible deus ex machina of 5th dimensional human beings and "love," what an awful conclusion.

Like I said, I still liked the film as an experience, but the more time goes on, the more I hate the ending. And I've watched it twice since the theater (thanks near-cross country trips).

deus ex machina
i feel like people dont actually understand what this phrase means.

if the 5th dimensional stuff is alluded to in the beginning of the movie (ghost in the bookshelf), i dont see how that is deus ex.
