I agree. He was too big of an actor for that role. It totally took me out of the movie and made me think "Huh, I didn't know he was in the movie. How did I miss that he was part of the cast?" Nolan should have used a lesser known actor.

Overall I liked it, but thought it was one of Nolan's weaker films.

I'm not surprised SFP didn't like it though . I knew his post would be negative when I read the thread title and saw his name.

the vast majority of films i've posted reviews of on this board lately were given positive reviews

I've said it before, but Bryan Cranston was the perfect person to portray that character. You can believe he convinces 12 people to go on a suicide mission with him, that he's the best humanity has to offer, and that he's a treacherous ruthless coward. All Damon came across as is a giant pussy. He was incredibly miscast. I really think if Cranston was delivering those lines, no one would have a complaint about the character showing up in the end.
