Someone refresh my memory on this. I'm not remembering.

This isn't a perfect summary but i'll try.

There's a wedding for the Bolton dickhole. Lord Manderly (not introduced thus far) serves up 3 of the Frey sons in giant pies at the wedding feast. They don't know what they are eating the whole time. Hilarity ensues.

Pretty much. In the books Manderly is a staunch Stark ally. In the books he hatches a larger plan that deceives the Frey's, the Boltons, and the Lannisters, of which the pie ordeal is just one small piece of it.

I would go deeper into explaining the larger plan, but I don't want to spoil anything just incase the show ends up putting that plot in (although I seriously doubt they have the time to do it now).

ETA: Nevermind, I thought this was the middle ground thread for some reason.

Manderly captures Davos, and tricks everyone into thinking he executes him. He then sends Davos after Rickon, pledges to align with Stannis, and sets out to Winterfell to reek havoc at the wedding party. I loved his storyline in ADWD.

And wasn't it Manderly who coined the phrase "he north remembers"?
