I, like most of you, got a script in college to help my lazy arse get shite done. Now that I'm in the working world I wonder if I should continue to use it or just go the tried and true 3 cups of coffee method.

What say you?

Congrats on having to use drugs to function like a normal hard-working human being.

I'm gonna tell you a secret. You can have both and you'll be just fine.

Yet another reason why your generation sucks and is doomed to fail at life.

Renew your prescription. You'll need it to keep up with your elders.

I'm not a medical doctor, but I am a biochemist who specializes in pharmaceuticals,so take this fwiw.

The evidence isn't in from longterm studies, but I'd suspect the same side-effects as from any Dopeamine releasing phenethylamine amphetamine.

your body will be tolerant/dependent on it, so getting off it would induce withdrawals... you can find much info on Adderall withdrawals all over the internet....

If you're disciplined you can keep at a low dose and not build too much tolerance. I wouldn't think 5 or 10 mg a day will hurt you

I would encourage you to try to do without. Practically no drug is designed to be totally safe and benign for your entire life. Much of the drug's effects are mild, but many people function quite differently (from a personality standpoint) on it. This may be undesirable to you, in which case coming off may be a good thing for you. As far as withdrawals are concerned, talk with your doc who is prescribing it before you come off. In all likelihood, you could probably stop it with little/no effects, but not knowing what dose you're on or you at all, it's always better to talk to a professional who knows you about starting or stopping medicine.
