security at the event was fricking stupid
we tried to go watch the finish and they had every street closed off except Mass Ave, so everyone had to bottleneck through one checkpoint
creating a giant target sounds like a great way to stop terrorists guys
wife and I said frick it and went get food at the Pru

Bump just to say thank you for all of you that wished me and the other runners well yesterday. Despite the rain and cold, it was an amazing experience that I can't wait to do again.
I came in at 4:20:16, which I am pleased with for my first marathon. I told myself to be happy with anything under 4:30, so I reached my goal.
To all of the other runners, hope you're healing well and walking a little better than I am today. Knees are sore as hell, but totally worth it. As one of the signs I saw along the route said, "Pain is temporary, pride is forever."
