well there is some historical record of the figure of jesus possibly being real, but that doesn't mean the stories in the gospel are real. there is not very much evidence of this occurring.
and it would be VERY easy in antiquity for people living even 20-30 miles away to know nothing of jesus until john or paul showed up in their town. these people were likely illiterate, didn't speak latin, possibly only spoke a regional dialect, spent most of their day working in rural seclusion, never left the area they were born, etc.
i mean to bring ghengis back up again, he was around in like the 13th century. he went all sorts of places close to his nomadic roaming area where the people had no idea who he was, and he had already destroyed other hoards. it took a long time for word to get out who he was, and he had a lot more direct impact with a lot more evidence than jesus. and he was doing it almost 1300 years after jeuss's time.

But while Genghis is just a historic figure, Jesus still impacts the lives of roughly 30% of the worlds population today. And he did this by traveling less the 50 miles from where he was born and was only in the public like 4 years or so. And he did this over 1000 years befor Genghis and is still doing it 2000 years later. No other man that has ever lived can say this.

But yet every day people give thanks to Jesus. Your statement is wrong! Does people give thanks to ghengis or even think of him today even close to Jesus?
