I would have to put the rock in his top 10.

I've fought a bunch of people, but Manny Pacquaio's list is more quality.

Bill Murray in a landslide.
I agree and I like Nic Cage.
The Man Who Knew Too Little cracks me up

It's hard to choose. Both men's resumes are among top 10 in the last 35 years. I would probably go with Murray because the quality of his films have been more consistent plus it's much more different to make great comedies than great dramatic films. You can't go wrong with either one though.

i think overall body of work is definitely murray, however you could probably argue that cage's best performances(leaving las vegas and adaptation) are better than murray's best.

Murray, but not as much as some of you say.
When Cage is on, he is better than Murray.
He has an Oscar, and should have another for Adaptation.
He was outstanding in Joe.
His problem is that when he mails it in, he is the worst.

Well of the movies of theirs that I've seen and like best for both.
Bill Murray
Ghostbusters
The Razor's Edge
Quick Change
What About Bob?
Groundhog Day
Mad Dog and Glory
Kingpin
The Man Who Knew Too Little
Nic Cage
Rumble Fish
The Cotton Club
Raising Arizona
Honeymoon in Vegas
Red Rock West
Leaving Las Vegas
The Rock
Face/Off
Snake Eyes
8MM
Bringing Out the Dead
Lord of War
Kick-arse
Not really a big fan of late period Bill Murray but his 20th century output is strong enough to I think warrant a tie.

agreed 100%. cage vs murray is an apples to oranges comparison. if the question is who has participated in better movies throughout their careers, the answer is murray, as cage has been in some real clunkers. however, as this poster stated, at his best, cage is a better actor than murray. cage has the oscar for the dramatic role in leaving las vegas, and his performance in adaptation is as good if not better than anything murray has done(in a role very similar to many murray has played). cage has also been the leading man in a ton of action films.
on the other hand, murray is one of the best comedic actors of all time. murray has delivered consistently, and has been in more movies that history will remember favorably than cage.
imo the only fair comparison of cage and murray would be to compare cage in adaptation against murray in lost in translation.
