They probably already offered him a lot. Surely they didn't want this to go public. He may not want to settle.

It certainly appears that he has a valid argument. The lawsuit version is of course catered to his side of the story though.

Offer him a thousand bucks and an autographed Blu Ray and be done with it. This case has literally no chance of winning. None. And considering he self-published, I doubt he has the war chest to litigate it either. He's trolling for a settlement, and there's not much incentive to give him one.
