Seriously...
How does a Gutter Punk/Travelling Kid spend $10,000 in two weeks? Do you think it was all on booze and drugs? That fricker would be in the morgue.
I don't give them a nickel, but...
I have a BIL who is from a very conservative upstate SC family. He's from Strom Thurman's neck of the woods. He's lived in SF and NYC, and frequently gives to bums. I asked him why and his response was, "I know most are probably scamming, but a couple might be legit and five or ten bucks to them means a whole lot more than it does to me."
He is without a doubt one of the nicest, friendliest, personable, considerate, hard working and - believe it or not - intelligent people I've ever met. If the world was only populated with people like my BIL, everything would be alright.

The kid was in to some big time drugs and was paying for his friend's drugs too. His dad also said there were multiple charges from some strip clubs and some $500+ bar tabs.
