When I was a kid, some hippy types moved out of a shitty rent house. All of us kids went in the vacated house to explore. They left behind the first "waterbed" I ever saw.
It was just a "mattress" made out of thick black rubber like a truck inner tube, full of water, on the floor. Nothing else. I don't think it even had baffles in it.
It was strong though. We used it like a trampoline, and it never popped.

Mine never leaked, and I loved it, but boy when that heater went out in the middle of the night, talk about sucking all the heat from your body! I thought I'd never get warm!
