5 things you want to see out of spring game

1) the QB battle for obvious reasons
2) who is going to step up at DE and take the starting jobs
3) with all the talk around chark, going to keep an eye out for him and Quinn to see who will be getting the nod in the slot
4) The impacts of Kevin Steele and Coach O
5) Leonard Fournette and his praised improvement form Cam Cameron
What will you all be looking for?

How the offensive line is meshing together, as well as the depth of the o-line

1) No major injuries

Those 5 things are all important. Along with #4, it would be great to see someone like Trey L., Gilmore or F. Herron show us something at DT, since no recruits were signed at that position and Valentine's future at LSU appears uncertain.

Gonna be a very controlled scrimmage. Don't put much stock into what we see on Saturday. QB accuracy will be the biggest thing I'm looking for, especailly since they know they can't be tackled. Totally different animal when the live bullets are flying.

If it doesn't stop raining, they may cancel it. You know Miles hates it anyway.

I want to see Jennings throw into single coverage instead of triple coverage

I can't wait for all the dumb threads that will appear after the spring game that will be from posters drawing absolute, definite conclusions about what they see and applying it to the future…because the Spring Game is ALWAYS an accurate predictor of what we will see in the fall.

Chark is a pure wideout, TQ and Diarse will be the slot guys.

1) The format. In the past, LSU has done some wonky things (like drafting players without rhyme or reason) probably to purposefully obscure what they are going to do. Hopefully, the spring game will be treated more like a game and less like a practice of controlled situations.
2) Defensive alignment. I'd like to see what Steele has in mind. A switch to more three man or predator fronts would be very interesting for this group.
3) Dural and Dupre's development. If those guys got stronger and more physical, I'm not sure what you do with them. They got jammed a ton last year. Unfortunately, largely it worked. If you can't jam them cleanly, they will score a ton of long touchdowns. It will also make the intermediate passes easier since people will back off.
4) Who lines up where in that secondary. The coaches have been raving about enough guys back there that we'd need like 8 db spots to play them all. Best health for that unit in a while as well. Where do you put all of those talented guys?
5) Can Jennings take a leap? We all know Harris is immensely talented. If Jennings comes out and looks good, the pressure of the competition will heat up. A rising tide will lift all boats. If Jennings can silence some of his critics, it will be good for LSU AND light a fire under Harris. That can't be a bad thing.

with all the talk around chark
I'll admit that I'm a bit of a cynic.
But, my guess is that Chark barely sees the field this year.
Seem like every year, there is some dude that kills it in Spring, some dude that Miles talks about constantly. Then come the season, we never hear of him again.
Last year it was Avery Johnson and one of the d-lineman (can't remember which one). But Les talked them up about how great they were all spring. Then when games started...nothing.
Chark is that guy this year.
Not that he isn't good, but it seems to be Les' MO

Some things:
1.) Like someone said above, Chark is a pure wideout. He will not be playing the slot.
2.) Fournette will be an absolute monster this year. I want to see if he's improved as much as Cam says he has (if that's even possible). This guy could go down as one of the best Tiger RB's of all time and is the undisputed best player on the team.
3.) I like the talent and depth we have for DL. Coach O will have these guys coached up and ready to play. Really want to see who all can rotate in and provide depth.
4.) Defense as a whole should be interesting to see if there will be much of a change with Steele in as DC. Not a lot of depth at LB, but insane talent. Expect huge things this year out of Kendall Beckwith. Secondary is grossly stacked with talent as usual. Tre White will be the anchor of the secondary, Mills will provide leadership, and Jamal Adams is a beast as we all know. Kevin Toliver is being talked about a lot, I would like to see how ready he is to compete. Dude seems like the real deal. The other CB spot is up for grabs.
5.) WR will be fun to watch. It might be the best unit on the team. We know how good Dural is, but do we really know how good Malachi Dupre will be? The things I am hearing this offseason about Dupre is that he has just been outstanding in practice. We may have the next AJ Green on our hands in Dupre. I also see Quinn to be vastly improved. He's one of the fastest players on the team, and has a high football IQ. Don't let his drops in the Bama game fool you, he is an insanely talented WR and will show us this year. Chark and Diarse will also make plays.
6.) Obviously QB development. I think Harris steps up and becomes the starter, but the competition we will see in the Spring game and that will continue into fall practice will only make the QB's better. Whoever helps getting that W is the QB I'd like to see.

1. QB accuracy
2. Receiver separation
3. No injuries
4. Defensive tackle pressure on QB
Of course everything said is a good quality/bad quality scenario when you are playing your own team.

QB battle and our LBs. Could one of our QBs actually look comfortable in the pocket this season? What does our LB depth look like?
Posted on 4/13/15 at 3:45 pm to WreckinRams05
1. One QB looking better than the other with IMPROVED play.
2. Consistent 10-15 yard down field receptions from our QB/WRs.
3. Lateral LB play where RBs do not reach the corners.
4. Sacks. Or at least consistent pressure that breaks up pass plays.
5. TFLs.

1) QB improvement. Hopefully from both but at least from one. Separation between the two would be nice as well.
2) OL. Who's where and what backups are looking good
3) WR's and who appears to be getting better
4) DL as a whole. Need to be better here
5) LB Kwon is probably our biggest loss. He will be tough to replace on D
As far as Steel goes, I don't think it's fair to judge his D after a few months. Guys will need time to learn.

I only want to see one thing, a QB. Because without that nothing else matters. Not how many people leave early, how many get drafted, 10 win seasons, Top 5 recruiting classes etc.

Improved QB play.
Improved DL.
Battle for the CB2 between KT and Ed Paris.
Steele and Orgeron.
And the improved play of LF, Dupre, Beckwith, Jamal Adams, Debo.
And wanna see someone emerge that we aren't expecting, sounds like DJ Chark has done that so far in spring as well.
