NOLA. Fun place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

Your results will vary....but New Orleans would get my vote as well for being overrated. I want a lot for the city but it underwhelms me and flat out disappoints me in so many ways.

I have not visited Vegas before though. Some of you talk about it like it's pretty awful.

the list is via yahoo travel, so it is from the perspective of a tourist, and not a resident. i agree that i wouldn't want to live in New Orleans, but from a tourists perspective it is a great city and definitely not overrated.

Most people probably hear the wild stories and see how it is resembled on TV and in the movies and expect to have a similar experience. If you want to have an experience like that you are going to need to shovel out $$$. I think Vegas is great, personally. Some of the stuff I have seen there is just ridiculous.

i don't find vegas appealing, but i'm not a "vegas person". nothing about gambling appeals to me, and i'm not a party person. they have great food and drink, but i can get that here. last time i was in vegas it was for a wedding, and we did the party thing but i was wishing i'd been in the mountains/desert the whole time was there.
