Maybe this'll ease some of yalls minds about Paul Dawson. We already know he can cover, but he ranks #1 in Run Stop Percentage (almost double the next best), and #2 in Pass Rushing Productivity.

Funny that the big name LBs in the draft aren't anywhere to be found in any of the stats. Dawson's size and poor combine showing will drop him into the late second or early 3rd round and some team will get a very good player.

Meh, he more than made up for his combine with his Pro day, but people don't really think about it because it wasn't a big televised and covered event like the combine was.
But I agree some team is going to get a really good player cheap. If we can get him at 44 I'd be through the roof.

Yeah, but wouldn't we expect the better known players to have lower scores since they play better competition?

Dawson was I'm the Big12
So if they don't have good efficiency ratings because they're playing tough competition for their level, why would one think they could do it at an even higher level?

Not only is TCU in the Big 12 but it is a winning program (they were ranked 3rd in the Playoff Rankings until the final vote). There surely isn't a "level of competition" difference to consider when comparing Kendricks, McKinney, Anthony and Dawson.
The program is legit.

I'm not all about 40 times. But 4.9 is not going to cut it in the NFL. I take pro day numbers with a grain of salt. They almost always improve magically.
He'll be a 2-down beast, but this is a passing league. He will not be able to cover TEs or RBs or get sideline to sideline. He'll probably be awesome in goal line situations but we don't need another one-dimensional ILB. We need a guy with range who can cover.
Not to mention, dude has attitude issues.

Dawson is definitely a 3-down LB IMO. He can cover just fine. The two LBs in this draft that ARE 2-Down LB are McKinney and Perryman. But for some reason this board is all over both of their nuts.

I hate 40 times, shuttle or cone is a lot better evaluation. Straight line speed is definitely overplayed

When it's all said and done, Dawson will have the longer and more successful career than either of those 2 guys. He's a football player...not a track star.

Yeah and Dawson's 3-cone drill was sub-7 and great for his position/size.

If Dawson is running a 40 yard dash during a game then we in bad shape anyway. Focus on cones and shuttle. Most plays last less than 4 seconds and are within a 10 yard radius of snap.

Did anyone listen to the pff podcast regarding Dawson? They said his ideal fit is the saints. Just fyi. Listen to it, pretty good information.
