Golf.
Individual sport/game so nobody can say "you were on a loaded team". Also, you play everyone(technically). No schedule thread needed.

longer career with more money to be made than football, hockey, soccer, boxing etc (anything other than golf or poker)
plus, not being a household name in europe etc is a good thing. you can vacation in europe, asia, south america etc and not be constantly pestered by fans who think your celebrity entitles them to insert themselves into your private life.

Soccer. I adopted my daughter from China in 2009. I saw a ton of soccer jerseys. Besides the U.S. You could go to just about any place on the planet and they know soccer. But I get the point of populations.
