And the Crow may epitomize grunge, but I wouldn't say 90's in general.
Can't Hardly Wait and Empire Records had great 90's soundtracks.
So did Varsity Blues and American Pie.
ETA: and Scream 1 &2 had good soundtracks.

There is not a single grunge band on the Crow soundtrack. It is goth and industrial. It's all based on Joy Division, for godsakes.

can't hardly wait and american pie weren't necessarily great movies, but i would say those 2 movies best represent the 90s for the average teen/young adult.
the soundtrack for cruel intentions has to be up there as well.
