We spent most of our Easter's in Destin when I was growing up. Chocolate rabbits, candy, and pool/beach toys were the norm.

This was us every Easter too, except for the beach toys. It was chocolate rabbits, goldbrick eggs, jelly beans, robin's eggs, peeps, etc etc. Also a stuffed bunny, chick etc when I was young.
Not poor, but guess Easter was never a big gift giving holiday back in the late 80's. We were way more excited about a week at the beach and crawfish boils.
