interesting moral dilema...so, you guys think that an otherwise healthy 15 year old should be denied a heart transplant because he has an arrest record?....
not sure how I feel about the whole issue...

The way I'm reading it, he "cut in line", had the signs he wouldn't keep up with the prescribed meds to make it a successful transplant, forced the hospital's hand by making it a "racial issue", and he had a bad rap sheet to go along with it. I don't think you should be having any dilemma~

The problem is the screening process. They knew this dude was a POS to start with. Just knew he was going to screw up. It is a very long process going thru to get a heart. They know everything about you.

He was originally denied due to a poor record of adhering to medical advice and medicine-taking protocol for a waiting heart transplant patient.
To answer your question, just a past criminal record should not be a major reason.

Yes and obviously we would've been 100% correct in this case. The hospital obviously knew what they were doing. Let's leave it up to the professionals.

I would put him behind an otherwise healthy 15 year old without an arrest record.

If you read the comments, I think that was his second donated heart. He screwed up the first one because he didn't do the rehab, then his mom pulled the race card when the hospital brought it up.
