He's a tweener 3/4 in the NBA, and LSU doesn't have the depth to give him any reps at the 3. Frankly, he probably regrets not leaving last season as his stock was higher.
maybe I'm in the minority but I don't think the line of thinking of, "he can't raise his stock any more by coming back" is a good reason.

There are plenty of players that aren't good enough for the NBA that can't raise their stock. Leaving after 2 years and not playing in the NBA isn't better than leaving after 4 years and not playing in the NBA.

He's passing up a huge opportunity to do something special at LSU next year with some amazing prospects, but I obviously wish him the best

When you have NO stock, it can only go up. He needs another year (maybe 2 to refine his game).

Also coming back and honing your game isn't just about getting drafted, it's developing the skills to stay in a league when you get there.

Oh I totally agree, but Mickey must have gotten a promising scouting report to make this decision

as for his relationship to James Wright-I thought they were cousins? I doubt Wright is bringing in enough bank to support extended family too and live a comfortable "NFL lifestyle"

...and I just don't know if it's true.

If Mickey had come back and improved half as much next year as he did this year, the guy would be All SEC type of level and I think would be a legitimate bottom of the first round candidate.

I don't think he'll be drafted at all...and if he is, it will be late in the 2nd round.

Having said all of that, I wish him the best of luck. I just hope its not a decision that he regrets.
