I enjoy it when it is actually comedy. When Stewart gets on his liberal, preachy soapbox, I just cringe.
I like the show but had to turn it off last night for this reason. He can be hilarious when he's calling both sides of the political aisle out on their bullshite, but his slanted political tirades are nauseating, and I'm not even a big fan of republicans or Fox News.
The far right conservatives on this board have trouble taking a joke or, for that matter, acknowledging an uncomfortable truth.

tuba is proof that this is 100% wrong

I think it will be less relevant
Stewart's ability to mobilize a point of view is unusual and it takes not only a good support staff but also a person who can carry it off in a way that appeals to his base audience
The very little bits I've seen about the new guy seem funny but following someone who has been the best in his niche is a near impossible task (ask LW right now)
Wilmore is the one who should be the most upset about Stewart leaving. A strong lead gives him time to figure out what he wants to do with that show... hopefully that includes either reducing the guest panel to 2 people or eliminating that as a nightly format.

His show needs to be daily. It's too damn good!
I think once a week is why they consistently kill it every episode
5 episodes a week waters shite down. I've been amazed at some of the pranks/research he and his crew have done for their big segment every week. It's really impressive

Also the tweets that the New guy is getting in trouble for are nowhere near offensive, or funny for that matter
They are just like dry Jew jokes that wouldn't ever make it in a script
I was curious enough to read the slate article and the tweets. The writer is a moron who doesn't understand what the terms anti-semitic or misogynistic really mean. Making a fat joke isn't anti women... it is anti fat people. Making a joke about jewish women not liking to go down isn't anti woman unless your definition of being an appropriate woman includes giving oral on demand... which, sadly enough, we know is not the rule for most of the women who consider themselves appropriate women.
