Why not? You think it diminishes the reward for the other kids? Because the school's disabled kid enjoys wearing his letter? Get over yourselves.

Look, the school should have a letterman program for the special needs students that participate in their special needs athletic programs. I don't think anyone is saying they shouldn't. Sounds like this would be a good opportunity to put one in place.

That being said, Mom should not have just gone out and bought one for her kid without even checking with the school.

This. The sad thing is not one person in the fricking school could come to this conclusion and put it out there.
