Godfrey

I'm gaining more confidence in Godfrey with each start he makes. Control is still an issue, but his stuff is nasty. The run he gets on his fastball makes him very tough to hit.

Although I strongly believe Latz is a weekend starter next year, it will be nice to have another lefty in the bullpen...especially around tournament time.

Same here. We've been spoiled by Lange who was basically ready from day one, but Godfrey has had some nice outings lately. Crazy to think our midweek starter next year could easily be the Friday guy at a lot of other schools.

I agree. His first few games he was terribly inconsistent. You could see potential, but just didn't have the control. He was also very emotional and I think it allowed pressure to get to him. He allows a lot of batters to get into full counts which drives up his pitch count. I think he's starting to get a handle on his control or at least is better able to work with it, and doesn't seem to get himself into as many jams as he did early on. Either way, for a freshman pitcher, I think he's done pretty well and is more than an adequate 3rd starter.

It still makes me think, if Latz is as good as advertised, and Lange certainly seems to be, just imagine if we had a rotation of Lange, Poche, Latz with Godfrey as a weekday starter. That's pretty nasty. And I believe we should get all of them back next year, god willing no one gets hurt. It definitely bodes well for us going forward.
